Good buy for for economic telephotos lensSigma 70-300mm 28-70mm DG Lens Set Pro Accessory Kit for Canon EOS 50D 40D 30D 20D 5D 1D Digital Rebel XT XTi XS XSi SLR Cameras Holiday Special From SIGMA
I dont know in depth of lens technology since I am new to this field and I dont hesitate to call myself a novice user in this field. However I have been learning of late about all this stuff and reading the reviews of lens. About Sigma 70-300 DG lens - I am happy with it I get to play around a lot connecting it to Canon 450D. Worth mentioning that I got very good portrait pictures and macros using this lense. It covers quite a good distance. Backgorund blurr effect is amazing. Quality may not be called as "Outstanding" as compared to canon telephoto lens. I will post few pictures taken by this lens.

Great purchase with a Rebel XSi bodySigma 70-300mm 28-70mm DG Lens Set Pro Accessory Kit for Canon EOS 50D 40D 30D 20D 5D 1D Digital Rebel XT XTi XS XSi SLR Cameras Holiday Special From SIGMA
This was my first time purchasing a professional SLR. I bought a Canon Rebel XSi body and was looking for a good lens. I came across this kit which seemed to good to be true of course. Im usually skeptical since Ive read in ripoffreport.com about places that offer kits like these and end up scamming you. Anyway I received it ONTIME 2days and with everything except the SAMSONITE BAG. I was a bit worried so I called right-away and spoke to a representative that politely explained why the SAMSONITE bag wasnt included. He said since what you are really paying for is for the lenses all the other accessories werent priced. They ran-out of the SAMSONITE bags and instead gave me a VIDPRO bag along with a smaller HOLSTER CAMERA CASE. They also gave me a SAMSONITE tripod which I wasnt expecting it to be that brand. All in all Im very happy with the purchase I didnt complain about the bag missing he was very nice and said if I had any questions to call back. 4 stars because they dont have it specified that the SAMSONITE bags are not offered. It is an excellent purchase to go along with just a purchase of a Canon Camera body. Hope that helps

so far It has been a great buy and definently met my expectationsSigma 70-300mm 28-70mm DG Lens Set Pro Accessory Kit for Canon EOS 50D 40D 30D 20D 5D 1D Digital Rebel XT XTi XS XSi SLR Cameras Holiday Special From SIGMA
I went on a vacation to Yellowstone right after i received the lenses and they allowed me to take so many more pictures than i could with my old lens. I was able to take alot of pictures of wildlife with the 70-300mm telephoto lens and i was able to fit entire landscapes easily with the 28-70mm lens. the filters that come with the package also increased the clarity and contrast of my pictures. The lens cleaning kit did not work very well and i was pretty dissatisfied with it and the tripod is ok but very cheap so it cannot support the telephoto lens. the whole package was very great for its price and i am overall pleased with it but i did not expect all of the things other than the lenses to be cheap products from wal-mart. the delivery was fast to and it came with everything thats mentioned. if you have the money and are looking for affordable and useful lenses that can handle many different situations then i defiantly recommend this kit. The lenses are not quite professional quality but they sure do get the job done. it was like christmas morning opening up all the stuff that came in the package.

This new lens does what many pros thought couldnt be done - replace the previous L-series 28-70 f/2.8 lens with something even better. Extended coverage to an ultra-wide angle 24mm makes it ideal for digital as well as film shooters and the optics are even better than before with two Aspherical elements and a totally new UD glass element. Its now sealed and gasketed against dust and moisture and a new processing unit makes the AF faster than ever. Zoom System - Rotating type Filter Size - 77mm Max. The best canon standard zoom lensCanon EF 24-70mm f 2 8L USM Standard Zoom Lens for Canon SLR CamerasFrom Canon
I bought this lens 3 months ago and Im loving it. There is still slight back focusing issue in some distances condition but its really ignorable. The picture is sharp as knife and L lens reputation does what it suppose to do. Previously I had 18-55mm 50mm 1.8 and Sigma 18-200mm DC OS now I sold all of them because this lens deserves every penny I paid. Zoom range is little dissappointing but I heard 3x zoom range is the maximum capability that can bring the best picture quality which means if the zoom range go more than 3x the quality degrades. So for example 18-200mm lens is good for all around purpose which covers 10x zoom from wide angle to super zoom but the quality isnt great as lens that zooms 3x or less. So Im quite happy with this lens so far. And if I point out one that really bothers me about this lens is its weight. Because after I carry this lens with my 40D on my shoulder for hours I easily get tired. =P Everything else is wonderful. You will forgive tireness once you see the quality of the pictures you take with this lens. I highly recommend this lens to all canon users. 5 stars

Tactically Tac-SharpCanon EF 24-70mm f 2 8L USM Standard Zoom Lens for Canon SLR CamerasFrom Canon
When I was looking for a General Purpose glass I contemplated between the 24-105mm F4L & this one. I knew that this lens would weigh much heavier than the 24-105 because of the 2.8 glass which could be a potential concern. I really didnt need the extra focal length as I already have the 70-200 for that. I knew that the 24-105 & 24-70 would run neck & neck as far as sharpness being that theyre both L-Lenses. But I did love the speed of the 2.8 on my 70-200IS so I decided on the 24-70. I have no regrets but damn.. damn. damn What a piece of Glass And the weight while on any of my Canon bodies indeed its Heavy... But I dont mind after seeing the results. I actually like it being heavy. My my my its Oh so sharp Another bonus feature I love is the Lens Hood which BTW came with the lens & I have it on 100% of the time stays in a fixed position it does not extend/retract the objective lens retracts deeper into the hood as the focal length is increased. The hood is deep & huge It looks DOMINATING All I know is that if I went with the 24-105mm F4L soon if not later Ill always wonder how the 24-70mm F2.8L would be & probably end up buying one down the road. Hence ending up with 2 General Purpose glass that have practically similar focal range. Grant it the 24-105 has IS extra focal length & much lighterNo thanks. I get nothing less than Tactically Tac-Sharp images Going with the 24-70mm F2.8L route Ill never wonder about the 24-105 nor own one for that matter. If you get the 24-105 youll end up buying this later on Im sure of it. If you get this first... After using it - Believe me youll never want the 24-105. Save & spend your money on the 70-200mm F2.8L IS instead. As partners these two are a one two punch to have in your Canon Gear

DO NOT BUYCanon EF 24-70mm f 2 8L USM Standard Zoom Lens for Canon SLR CamerasFrom Canon
Extremely disappointed with this lens. Poor focus after 15 Images never sharp under any condition. Not at all what you would expect from an L series. Lots of $$$$ poor performance. Working on third copy. Unfortunately did not get chance to evaluate prior to warranty running out. CAUTION PS failed to research product reviews prior to purchase My Bad Better luck to all
