Customer Reviews

Really good product and as usual 47th Street got it here fast.
I bought a wired remote that I had to buy an extension for to use. But even though the extension is 8 feet long it is inadequate when you are trying to take some pictures. When I saw this device I knew I needed to have it. I used this yesterday to take pictures of my daughter and her family. Simple hold the camera and shoot? No - They were on an uncooperative horse. The solution is a tripod a good camera lens and this remote. I dont usually use auto focus in this instance I needed to. The horse did not like the whole situation and so I just set the camera on a tripod away from the horse and started shooting. After about 100 high res shots I was able to get what I needed. But holding a camera and approaching a horse is not always the best way to go. This remote worked great. It does time out to conserve batteries etc but 95% of the time it will never be an issue. I was standing about 50 feet from the camera at times with no problem. There was one problem though - My two year old granddaughter wanted to "push button" but that is another story.

Works great
The wireless remote works great. It controls the camera and allows you to auto focus before releasing the shutter. Best of all the remote does not have to be directly in front of the camera to work.

Opteka Rocks
This is a great choice for an amateur or pro. Shoot one or a hundred from behind your back in your pocket across the room or behind the camera. Great investment over the infrared remotes because you dont need to focus the beam on the camera and distances are limited with those.

Customer Reviews

Good for the price
For this price very good choice... Working as it should work so I have no complains

Worked great for 1 day
Item worked perfectly and did everything I was hoping for with a nice long cord and the ability to press shutter halfway to focus and then press completely to take pic I was able to practice portraits of myself. Unfortunatly it only worked well for one session now it works very inermittenlty 7-10 presses sometimes to get it to snap does not get much more annoying than that. Would not recommend pretty useless.

Very Good Review
I like the remote release cord very much. The shipping timewhich is very important to me was excellent

Customer Reviews

Why Buy Canon?
The Opteka battery grip for the Canon 450D is a very good investment. Considering you are getting 2 decent batteries it is almost like the grip is free. The grip is made from the same mold as the Canon but much much cheaper. The installation is quick and easy. All the buttons are there and it makes the XSI DSLR "feel" much more substantial. Even the rubber-like texture really makes it like the real deal. Get it you wont regret it

Great Addition to The XSi
Having been a long time owner of the Opteka Rebel XT grip I figured Id give this a shot to accompany my new EOS XSi. The grip has the same shape feel and functions as the Canon brand at a fraction of the price and I am pleased to report that the Opteka XSi grip has exceeded my expectations. The grip offers primarily power management advantages along with improved camera handling options at the cost of some weight and bulk. With two of the standard rechargeable batteries in the grip recycle times for the flash are noticeably quicker. It also adds the option of accepting AA batteries in a pinch. The two LP-E5 batteries included with the grip are high-capacity and of good quality. I would recommend this grip to a friend.

Works well.
Have used it to trigger my Canon 40D on my telescope and it worked just fine.

So far so good... Good value for money
No surprise working as expected. A little bit longer would have been better - Ill cut it and extend it myself one of these days.

It focuses but doesnt shoot
Waste of my time I just got this item and hooked it up to my Canon EOS 30D. The button focuses but does not shoot. I pressed down really hard and nothing happened. It is designed to hold the button down when using the BULB shutter long exposures but its all useless if your cant fire the shutter This is going back to where it came from
